Testimonials
Tracey Curtis Taylor is an accomplished public speaker who gave a lecture at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London at the invitation of the honourable company of Air Pilots, a Livery company of the city of London. Her lecture was about her long-range aviation documentary expeditions, flying in a Boeing Stearman aircraft, recreating the routes of historic first flights by Pioneer female aviators, sponsored by, (among others), Boeing, to promote aviation in general, and being a professional pilot in particular , to women across the third world and beyond as a viable career option. Boeing has recognised this as a critical need when there is a global shortage of professional pilots, estimated at up to 40,000 new professional pilots required per year. Her presentation was outstanding. Invited senior figures from across The City of London wrote subsequently to our organisation, The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, to say how impressed they were by its professionalism and dynamism, and to compliment the way it placed the lack of female representation, (particularly in the third world), in professional aviation careers in a sensitive and compelling way, bringing to their attention a matter of which they had not previously realised. Ms Curtis – Taylor has produced a documentary of her work in the air, and is an accomplished and skilled light aircraft pilot, willing to plan and execute highly challenging, long-distance expedition flights across difficult and at times, dangerous terrain, and oceans in a vintage aircraft. She has also written a published autobiography. It is in her extraordinary, indeed exceptional, ability to communicate to an audience that her value is really revealed. Tracey Curtis Taylor is not mainly relatable to people interested by the subject of her talks, lectures, films, and book, but is able to inspire any audience through the medium of her experiences in flight, and her insight gained from it, and by her enthusiasm for it. She reaches beyond the subset of people already interested in aviation to those otherwise unconcerned by it, and leaves them energised to make further enquiry, to be supportive of it, to engage with it and to respond to it. She is a prolific public speaker, from small gatherings to large corporate audiences and her capacity to do this never fades. It is her sheer consistency that strikes me on every occasion that I have heard her speak. Tracey, Curtis Taylor, inspires the younger generation in general and women in particular to respond in a favourable way about aviation. In an era where the competition for young talent is ferocious and aviation may have become seen as less inspiring and uplifting than once it was, Tracey ignites a passion for it in an audience and has a genuinely remarkable talent for reaching out to young people. Tracey is a highly accomplished aviator, writer, and an exceptional communicator, public speaker, presenter, and representative. Her key strengths are her personal courage, dynamism, and determination in addition to her skills as a communicator which make her so credible to an audience, whatever the medium. Tracey Curtis Taylor brings immense value to the aviation industry by inspiring and motivating young people worldwide to consider an aviation career. Aviation is approaching a crisis due to a lack of trained, motivated, young people. Tracey Curtis Taylor can and will play a significant part in meeting and overcoming that crisis through her exceptional talent as an inspiring communicator and leader across the aviation world.
